The first few times I came to Bangkok it was always a kind of shock for me, a positive shock. As if I had immersed myself in a completely different world. Of course that happens a lot when you travel to foreign countries, but here it is so powerful and immediate. This opulence of colors that immediately impresses you. The opulence of the floral decorations. The opulence of the clothing. The opulence of the fruit, etc. I could go on and on. Bangkok takes you away and surprises you at every corner with new, powerful impressions. The idea for the fragrance Bangkok Shock was fed by these experiences. An idea of opulent colors, heavily made-up dancers, seas of flowers and exotic food. But also of lots of garish plastic that you come across everywhere in the shops.

Liquid Inspiration:

As is often the case, a special ingredient is the basis of my olfactory inspiration. In this case, it is an Indian jasmine that I discovered at the Chatuchak Flower Market. A special jasmine that cannot be compared to the French one. I wanted this jasmine in a slightly fermented version. Why? Because it creates another facet that gives the jasmine more depth and structure, but also slightly floral, amber notes. The special nature of this jasmine should be the heart of the composition. Other exotic white flowers such as ylang ylang support this. The European floral note, which fits in perfectly, comes from the iris that I love and from the Damascus rose, which symbolizes the transition from Orient to Occident. A slightly aquatic freshness, which is so present at the flower market, also had to be added. The whole thing is carried by a soft woody base of sandalwood and vanilla with spicy touches of patchouli and benzoin.

Finest Liquid:

The fragrance starts, as its name suggests, with a shock. A shock of impressions and opulence. It might seem that the fragrance is too much and too room-filling. But despite its striking opening, it remains elegant and sophisticated. The fermented jasmine together with the other flowers and the fresh citrus/aquatic top note pulls out all the stops and fills the room with a shock-like floral opulence. But not burdensome, rather invigorating. Fine spices and the gentle base notes make the experience last a very long time. Everyone should immerse themselves in the fantasy and exoticism that emanates from the fascinating city of Bangkok. It goes without saying that the charisma is very high and the durability as well.
